Dandelion: More than just a weed?

“What is a weed? A plant whose virtues have never been discovered” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Dandelion...once considered a common weed and nuisance in my life as they would spring up in my lawn which required intervention...now are happy constituents in my daily herbal tea blend and our Organic Cuticle Balm.

“The dandelion botanical name “Taraxacum officinale” speaks for its usefulness and refers to the healing effect. Namely, ‘Taraxacum’ comes from the Greek and means ‘anti-inflammatory’ and ‘officinale’ refers to the common name for herbs. However anti-inflammatory effect is not the only benefit of the dandelion.

Dandelion is used to treat skin conditions, lymphatic inflammation, anemia, to improve gastrointestinal tract function and liver metabolism.”

How do we use it?

In our Cuticle Balm -- Dandelion is full of minerals, fatty acids and vitamins A, C, and E - powerful antioxidants that protect skin against free radical damage and may help boost collagen production.

We infuse the root and leaves in a mix of organic sunflower and jojoba oils as a base for our Cuticle Balm.
